We make owning oil & gas assets simple.

We do the legwork of identifying the right assets, making the acquisition, and handling of all back office paperwork, deeds, and revenue. We pride ourselves on our transparency, providing in-depth reporting and cash flow data through a custom-built app. You simply make a purchase, then enjoy the benefits being an energy owner has to offer.

Royalty Income

Monthly royalty payments derived from the sale of oil & gas produced.

No expenses or cash calls, simply collect 12 royalty checks a year and submit a 1099.

Passive royalty income without the hassle and liabilities associated with traditional real estate.

Tax Benefits

Working interest offers several significant tax benefits & the potential for high returns.

Intangible drilling costs (65-80% of total investment) are 100% deductible in the year incurred.

Tangible costs (the remaining costs related to equipment) are depreciated over 5-7 years.

Direct Ownership

Mineral rights are considered real property and are owned in perpetuity.

You can use a 1031 exchange to acquire mineral rights while deferring capital gains taxes.

The long lifespan and passiveness of mineral rights makes them perfect for self-directed IRAs.

Over the past five years, Eckard has reshaped the way people think about energy investing.

Eckard’s long history in the oil and gas industry has allowed us to take advantage of a market that was sorely lacking in expertise, trustworthiness, and transparency. We aren’t just an investment firm offering the next “deal” to whoever is trying to make a quick buck. We’re a family-owned energy company that is passionate about our industry and bringing unrivaled ownership opportunities to qualified investors.

  • A proven track record with 40 years in the industry.
  • An in-house team of geologists, engineers, and landmen evaluating everything we buy.
  • Investing alongside our clients in every deal we offer.

Opportunities We Offer

Eckard provides ownership opportunities in two main energy asset classes: working interest & mineral rights.

Working Interest

A working interest in oil and gas is a direct ownership interest in the operations and production of a well. The risk level is higher than mineral ownership — but working interest owners receive substantial tax benefits and potential for major returns.

Intangible Drilling Costs (IDCs) are up to 100% deductible first year. These costs make up 70-85% of the total investment!

A $100,000 investment where 70% qualifies as IDCs results in a $70,000 deduction. At a 35% tax rate, this translates to $24,500 in tax savings.

Significant return potential – we have a 27.82% average annualized ROI across all of our working interest projects to date.

Mineral Rights

Owning mineral rights is like owning real estate flipped upside down. You own real property that pays monthly royalties from oil and gas production — without any of the liabilities or expenses associated with traditional real estate. Go from property taxes to production by becoming a mineral rights owner.

The most passive income source available — no cash calls, maintenance costs, mortgages, or operating expenses to deal with.

Owners are paid every single month by billion-dollar oil companies. After the initial investment, all you do is collect royalties.

The value of mineral rights is often multiplied over time when new wells are drilled and new formations are developed.
